  1. I searched online quite extensively and could not find any information about the meaning of the name Shazrah. That's the first time that has happened. Sorry!

Who chose this name for your daughter, and why?

    • I saw in Arabic Urdu al-Munjid.

On page 525, the word Shazara appears. And it means to look angrily with crossed eyes.

I believe that the name of the baby girl be changed!

We have Sahih Hadith that Huzoor Paak Sal lallaahu Alayhi Wasallam has changed the names many as-haba Ikraam RadhyAlaahu Anhu!

      Wallaahu Aalam Bis Sawaab!

      • Shazrah and Shazara are not the same.

        • As I am from India, hopefully I can appreciate the situation.

People whose mother tongue is nonArabic end up misspelling an Arabic word.

I have experienced that twenty seventh letter haa (one of the weakest letters in tajweed) that appears after letter Waaw is often left in transliteration where it should genuinely appear and vice versa.

I have also experienced that haa is often misused. For example Salah is spoken as Salaat, Hidaayah is spoken as Hidaayat, and so forth!

Is it that the correct word is Shazara which has been colloquialized as Shazrah?
Today Qaari Shaahid Iqbaal Nadwi and I had a detailed discussion and we decided to advise the parent of the baby girl to change the name!

          Wallaahu 'Aalam bis Sawaab!

    • hey my name is shazrah the meaning of shazrah is seep main chupa hua motti.........................
