Some people want to do business with me… Are they telling the truth?
As Salam Alaikum Warahmatullahi Barakatu
Me i Have one problem and the problem is that some people called me and they said they are coming from there country Mali which is in war and they want to settle and do the business in my country Kenya. They want me to advice them and they are in Nairobi. They want me to go in Nairobi and meet them so i want to know are they telling the truth becoz once before i was conned.

There's no way for us to know the answer to that question.
All I can advise is that you research the people involved and the business activities they want to discuss, pray istikhara and trust in Allah's will. If you have any concerns about your safety or about potential for haraam activities as a consequence of getting involved in business, ensure that you don't put yourself or your loved ones at risk, and follow Islamic principles.

I would not suggest that you meet with complete strangers alone and start doing business with them. Even people that are good friends or family end up in quarrels when doing business, so it wouldn't be wise to jump into this venture with people you don't know. No one can tell you if they are lying or telling the truth.
There are a lot of business scams that go on in the world and usually the ones who engage in this activity will do so with complete strangers so that they can walk away freely and not be found later.

Firstly, how did they get your number?
Secondly, if they want to do business in your country, why can’t they contact any government official or the emigration service?
Thirdly, if they have money for business, why can’t they travel to Kenya legally?
Fourthly, I have heard stories like this, and usually they lie about the country they are from.
So my advice to you is that, do not go to meet them anywhere. Let them correspond with your country’s emigration and not with you.

Probably same people who conned you before. How do they know about you? You can advice them on the phone or email? Don't give them your bank account information if they want to deposit some money in your account.

I am from a west African Country and I would advise you not to continue further communication with them. Recently, there are been a lot of business scams that looks a lot like what you have explained here. They tell you they are from a in-conflict country and will try to take advantage of you. They will tell you they have the money to do the business but will try to corn you. Moreover , you shouldn't be the one going to another country to meet with total strangers. As someone mentioned, you should redirect them to the authorities. Also. How did they find you?
