facing a problem of life time
salam
its been over two years i am in love with this girl, who is two years older to me, and we both love each other and wanted to get married. currently i am studying bba from england, we told our parenst that we want to get married to each other in the future about a year ago but both the families refused.
the main issue was about the age difference, from that time till today we some how gets together and still share the same feelings and still wish to marry each other.
now as she is nearly 24 her proposals are coming and her parents wants to settle her life but on the other hand she is not willing because of me, i never stopped her but its her will at the end, i was told by a mufti about a year ago to recite YA-HAYU YA- QAYUMMU 500 times a day, i have been doing that, but it has not changed anything but day by day it is getting worse, now i wanted to perform istikhara for her. recomend me what i can do at this time.
will be looking forward for your help
regards
abid

assalamualykum,
if you both really like each other, then
try to convince your parents hard, give
them the example of our Prophet
Sallahualyhiwasallam, that he married
at 25 to Hadrat Khadija, who aged 40,
was a widow.
see its a matter of ur life, sometimes parents
are wrong in their decisions, as they are only
concerned about the pride of their family
status, which they think will
get diminish in the eyes of relatives, its all
because of the wrong cultures stuff we had
all these years, eventhough we are in islam,
we are still slaves to these old non-islamic
cultures, which impacts many muslims,
so now its u ve to decide, i must say convince
them and marry this girl with whom you are
interested, as
it is your right, as you will be living with
your life patner for whole of ur life not them.
So ur parents are not considering ur feelings
but their worldly cultural status which is
absolutely wrong.
I hope this might help you. If there is any
good it is from Allah and if theres any bad
it is from my own nafs,
Wassalamualykum Warahmatullahi
Wabrakatahu.
