    Salaam Alaikum wa Rahmatullah

It seems as though finding a good Muslim husband or wife in this day and age is an increasing challenge. I am glad to hear you are a practicing Muslim, because adhering to the fundamentals of your faith is the foundation of success in all areas of your life.

You do mention what country you are in, but my advice is general and inshAllah it can help you no matter where you are.

First of all, enlist the aid of family members to let them know you are looking for a good wife who is a practicing Muslimah. Utilize online resources such as matrimonial sites like our sister site http://www.zawaj.com, and write up a "resume" for yourself that REALISTICALLY describes you, your outlook on life, and what you bring to the table as far as your education and employment. Be honest in evaluating yourself and if you see any weaknesses, promise yourself to work on them.

Be willing to look outside your comfort zone for a wife. Do not discount a woman because she is from a different tribe, country, or culture. Do not discount a woman who is a divorcee or a widow, because our beloved Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, married widows and divorced women. Indeed, his first marriage was to Khadijah, ra, who was a widow who was older than Muhammad, pbuh, by several years. Their marriage was blessed and he loved her greatly.

Remember that you are not a perfect man, and you would hope that any woman interested in you would overlook your faults, so do not be too nitpicky and discount a woman based on small things. Humans are imperfect and you will not find the "perfect" wife, but if you rely on Allah and open your heart, you will find the woman who is perfect for you. Look at the whole person, and realize that if you get an educated woman who is very knowledgeable about Islam, she might be a terrible cook or might not be a great housekeeper. You have to decide which points are most important, and which less so. Look at the whole person and then base your decision on her Deen and her compatibility with you.

Turn to Allah and ask Him to help you. Keep to your prayers, fast on Mondays and Thursdays and during the middle three days of the lunar month, and wake at night to pray the Qiyyam al Lail. Supplicate to Allah often, especially when you are breaking your fast and when you are in sujuud. Do not be impatient, and do not give up. InshAllah, Allah will bless you with a pious spouse who will help you complete half your Deen when the time is right.

Dear brothers, why is that we always give bad advise when it comes to marriage? Why Do we emphasis on that we need to tell others that we are looking for wife? when any 'MUSLIM' adult should be doing that automatically? i.e be looking for a wife? it suggest if you dont tell others, others wont know or wont help you? Do as muslims we choose not to marry i.e make it deliberate rejection of marriage or delay? when the prophet saaw said marry asap???? especially for the young man to marry asap??? , if we are able to? (able in the arabic word means physically and financially) i.e not be mad or impotent. and the scholars agree financially is not a reason intodays climate... so most men are not mad, or impotent... look at the rate of fornication and haram committed... amount of porn accessed on the internet and free mixing, women not covering... and so on and on.... then we wonder why the fitna is soo high??

What happens to the islamic community which is looking out for each other and seeing who can be of help to whom?? whom can be a good match for each other.. rather then minding our own buisness, living like the westerners ... non muslims... and not helping others then wondering why nobody helps us? ??

lastly if we delay our marriage till after our education in the west that is over 21 if we pass oall our exams perfecty anf get a job the day we graduate... that means we cant marry till at least 21/22? what is this what the prophet saaw advised when me married a poor 19 year old ali to a poor 19 year old fatima?? he didnt marry sooner due him being on jihad duty...

those who are studing medicine and the like wont finish till 23 + and after graduation they have house jobs that makes 27/28 year old till marriage what is this nonsence???

and its at that time most haram is done?

best age for child birth is 21 for women so marriage should be done a few years before that... i beleive prophet recommened 18?

prophet himself married at 25 but he recommended an earlier marriage to the muslims in general... why do we have this marry after your old and past your most best years then marry? due to materialism?

male hormones and female hormones decline with age, and peak between 18 and 25 so marriage as the prophet recommended should be done at late teens...

please think abotu what you say before giving advise...

also think in uk has the highest unwanted teen preg rate in the western world and average age for losing virginity is 17 so why are muslims so interested in pursuing eduation and getting a job before marriage???

so much fitna about yet muslims are supposed to set an example, but we are the laughing stock of the wet because we are not sexuallty fulfilled... why are we allowed to marry 2,3,4 times?

    think about this?
