I just want to know what will be the Quranic punishment for a person who is married already, but still goes out on a date with christian girls for fun?

  3. As Salaam-u-Aleikum, All: The response(s) above is a clear indicator of how quickly we jump to conclusions – possibly erroneous conclusions!

The question was posted by Fatima who is obviously a female! Fatima posed a straight forward question relative to a married man going out on dates with Christian girls. We’re not told whether Fatima is married and referring to her husband or some other married man; or whether the inquirer, “Fatima”, is actually a man posing the question anonymously as though he were a woman. But “Smack” bellows an accusatory response from Nadheerah dismissing Fatima (a woman) to eternal damnation with inflammatory parting comments sympathetic to Fatima’s alleged cheated wife!! Is this a “gay Islamic marriage”, or what?! I have news for you: Infidelity is not exclusive to men. Never was! Let’s not be myopic about such issues that tend to drag morality to its knees.

To answer the question posed, Allah (SWT) in Sura An-Noor 24:2-3 decrees a hundred “stripes” (lashes of the whip) to each culprit (found guilty adultery or fornication). But also keep in mind, Allah (SWT) protects the honor of women: There are VERY SPECIFIC (and weighty) requirements for a charge of adultery to be sustained which SHOULD effect an acquittal. Please take a moment to study the Law especially the critical mitigating mandate in Sura Nur 24:8 (which is generally not being followed by certain well known “Islamic” jurisdictions).

As for being dispatched to Hell for angering Allah (SWT), that miserable fate is up to His sole discretion; not to our myopic opinion. Allah (SWT) forgives whomsoever He wills. We are all reliant upon His infinite Mercy and Compassion. The two sins He may not consider forgiving are Shirk and taking the life of a Believer without just cause. But Allah (SWT) knows best.

Lucifer was successful in luring even Prophets into sin; we are nowhere close to that standard! Let’s be sincerely repentant for our sins, hold on tightly to His rope, help pull our brethren toward Deen, and let’s not point accusatory fingers at each other ignoring the fact that we also have dirt on our back. Jazak Allah …
