Prayer to Change My Father’s Mind
At present I am staying in a place where there are very few Muslims (only six or seven).
There is a place named Okhla where I want to get shifted to. There, I can proceed my further studies in Jamia Millia Islamia.
Please send me Wazaifs so that I can recite them and change my father's mind about this.
- Benazir
Asalaamualaikum Benazir,
It seems as though you are asking for a magic potion.
Effort and Dua go hand in hand.
- So make an 'effort' to explain to your father the benefits of shifting to this place. Try to alleviate his worries and concerns. I know that sometimes logic does not work with parents, especially if they stuck with a certain mindset; but you can always try inshaAllah.
- At the same time do istikhara as you are making a big decision. There are various duas you can make. See this link for duas from the Quran and if you scroll to the end of the page, you will see a post submitted by myself about a dua I like from Surah Maidah.

There is also a good dua in Surah Taha which we should use when wanting to explain or say something:
"Oh my Lord! expand me my breast; Ease my task for me; And remove the impediment from my speech, "So they may understand what I say"
Having said all this, you may also want to consider if it is Islamically permissible for you live away from your mahram/family home (if you are female).
Best Wishes,

Hi Benazir, Where do you live right now? and where in okhla do you want to shift, zakir nagar? batla house?
Asalam waylaykum I would like to know if if anyone knows any prayer or dua which can be read to help someone change his mind. I have a friend whos mother has chosen a boy for her to marry, but she dosn't want to marry him because she wants to study. Her mother won't listen to her and they has done istekhara asking Allah swt that she shud should marry that boy .and istkahara came out postive meaning that she should marry that boy. she has tried her best in telling his father, mother and explaining to them but it just doesnt seem to work, that is why i was wondering if there is any dua or prayer which can be done in order to help change her fathers mind. Jazakallah W.salam
