My wife wants to leave me. I have done istikharah, but are my dreams positive signs from Allah?

Asalamo alaikum,

dreams dreamt

Hope ur fine. Im in very deep tension and stress. My wife wants to leave me. she's in US and im in UAE. She wants to leave me and I'm trying to patch up. My in-laws are also supporting me and they are also in very tension. I had istikhara twice. My questions are below:

1. First time, i saw airplane after istikhara. What does Airplane means?
2. Second time, i saw white hands closed. when they opened, i saw white butterflies coming out of hands, which transformed into wihte pigeons.

Can anyone tell me if this is a positive sign from Allah?

  1. Salamu'alaikum brother,

Istikhaarah makes things easy if they are good for you, and Allah gives Barakah in the same. But things which are not good for you become difficult and Allah saves you from its evil (insha Allah). Dreams are not necessary. And interpretation of dreams is not something we can do. It is the knowledge which only elites among the elite 'Ulama have, and even they do not claim that they have such knowledge, but they have to be searched for. And I have heard from the "Ulama that interpretations of same dream seen by two different individuals can be different based on one's situation. So, instead of concentrating on dreams and their complications, concentrate on actions.

First of all, why does she want to leave you? Is it because you do not live with her? Or is there any other reason. Ideally, a couple should always live together and share love. Distances translate into distances in relationships.

Go to the US and talk to her. Stay with her. If possible, get her to the UAE and stay together.

Sorry brother, this is what I can advise, based on the limited information you have provided.

May Allah Hep you in this,
    Aameen

    • Alhamdulillah, brother! I think we have been reading the same books regarding dream interpretation, the qualifications of such and the criteria. I had just recently referenced the 'individual dreamer' aspect in my own research. Subhan'allah.

  2. Zshan, As-salamu alaykum. The result of Salat-al-Istikhara is not based on dreams, but rather we pray Istikhara then we trust Allah to guide us to the best course of action.

That does not mean, however, that dreams are not significant. As Muhammad Waseem said, the interpretation of the dream may best be done by the dreamer, but I think that certain symbols are universal. To me, the meanings of your dreams are obvious. The airplane, the white butterflies and white doves are all symptoms of flying or traveling. You need to go to your wife and spend time with her, or bring her to you. A marriage cannot succeed - and certainly you cannot resolve any problems - when the two of you are on different continents.

The butterflies transforming into pigeons, and the fact that they are white, indicate hope for the future. That tells me that you are not ready to give up on your marriage, and that by the two of you reuniting there is hope for your future, Insha'Allah.

    And Allah knows best.

    • Salamu'alaikum brother Walel. I agree to this alhamdulillah. There are some other signs such as seeing milk means knowledge, and many others we get from the Sunnah.

PS: Brother, I do not get mail notifications for the followup comments. I only get them for the new posts. I am not able to enable the notifications from my side (it says Blocked). Please do what you can, to resolve this issue. JazaakAllahu Khair
