Islamic marriage advice and family advice

I’m Christian and have one son with a Muslim; can I marry him?

A Muslim confused about marrying a Christian

Muslim and Christian Marriage?

Hi. I have some question and need an answer... I am a Christian Filipina girl and I have boyfriend who is an Iranian guy and he is Muslim. We love each other..

We had one son already but we still not married.. We keep it secret to his family.. but in my family they know our relationship because in Philippines there is no problem if there is baby before married..

My question is.. Is it allowed to marry even we have son already?... Is the parents of my boyfriend will accept us?... We know its a big sin in Muslim to have baby first before married but its a big sin also in Christian to abort so i continue having a baby..

Please advise because we love each other...

Thank you...

  1. Bism Allah wa-alhamdulillah (by the name of Allah and praise all be to Allah)

My dear, it's such a huge sin in Islam, like you said, but,,, after all, it's a sin. All sins Allah forgives those
who commit them once they honestly regret it and repent and ask for His forgiveness.
Evidence to that, is in the Quran, where Allah says:

ومن يعمل سوءاً أو يظلم نفسه ثم يستغفر الله يجدالله غفوراً رحيماً :سورة النساء-آية 110
translation of meaning ((And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's Forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.)) Surah: Al Nisa'a - Verse:110

As for the family's reaction to that, sorry for not being able to predict there. as of course it depends on the family's location and social and religious background, but based on personal observations, most Sunni Muslim families might have a huge argument with the son, if he got himself in a similar situation, but in the end, like all humans, they'll come around and take it, the duration of this interim period depends on his reasons, and the other social/religious factors and variables. but nothing should stop you guys from doing the right thing, getting married, no matter what the family reaction is, because if Allah the Almighty Himself forgives the sin in case of repentance and sincere asking for His forgiveness, then that's the major target and everything else is minor, so don't you yourself forget to repent and ask forgiveness, i'm sure in Christianity you'll also have it if you are sincere.

  2. As you have been here

I would like to tell you about Islam

We Muslims worship Allah - the only one GOD who created you and me and all that exists.
The GOD of Adam, Noah , Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammed (peace be upon them) and all.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allaah), Who has created you and those before you so that you may become al-muttaqoon (the pious).” [al-Baqarah 2:21]

why did Jesus(peace be upon him) the son of Mary (may Allah be pleased with her) came to this earth?
Jesus came to teach people about ALLAH. He came to teach people to worship none but ALLAH alone without associating any partners with HIM.

    Allah says
“And I (Allah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)”
    {Quran 51:56}

    Allah says,

Say, "He is Allah , [who is] One,
"Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).

"And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."

  3. Hello Jen,

It is a huge sin in Islam to commit fornication. Abortion is also a great sin as it involves killing an innocent soul.

I can not issue a verdict on whether you can marry him or not, but I think you can not marry him as long as you are a Muslim and you repent for your sins thus.

This man, does he equally feel guilty for having fornicated? He must repent to Allah and strive never to do that again. If he repents and you study Islam compared to what your current beliefs are, concerning God, Jesus, Muhammad, the Quran, etc. and accept it, you can marry. You can check this link: http://invitation2islaam.wordpress.com/

Read about it and consider Islam. If you become a Muslim, the family may also find it easier to accept, than a Christian daughter in law. They may find it difficult to accept a non Iraqi, but afterall, being a Muslim, you may eventually be accepted, God Willing.

  4. Hello! wow seems you are stuck a bit. I am not sure what the islamic view is concerning rather u can now marry...however from a Christian perspective God is always merciful and forgiving and He accepts that child as his very own...we must however repent of our sins and pray to God for forgiveness....Im sure your muslim boyfriend is awesome...but you want to live a Godly life...not a life of secrecy...dont marry out of lust...but talk to your religious leaders and ask for the best guidance...and more than anything pray. Hope this helps.
