Assalamu alaykum Brother Shahzaib,
Rizq comes from Allah, effort goes from man.
If your dad tried business and it did not succeed it means something is lacking or competition it stiff or some other factors and over and above the will of Allah to give as much Rizq as He wills.
I was working until one year back. Then I started my own business. First 6 months went of well and Alhamdulillaah I earned well, the other 6 months of this year have not been so good and in the same market, same competition I am finding it difficult to earn.
So brother do not worry, no one can take away your rizq if Alah does not will so.
To say that someone else than Allah can do something to your life by magic is not right. Magic is only deception, making someone stay away from the reality and truth visible to eyes and thus causing confusion, doubts etc. This is what the Qur'an says.
We have to remember, Allah's revelations of Truth and know that if He wills good, none can repel it.
105. And, (O Muhammad) set thy purpose resolutely for religion, as a man by nature upright, and be not of those who ascribe partners (to Allah).
106. And cry not, beside Allah, unto that which cannot profit thee nor hurt thee, for if thou didst so then wert thou of the wrong-doers.
107. If Allah aflicteth thee with some hurt, there is none who can remove it save Him; and if He desireth good for thee (there is none who can repel it). - Surah Yunus.
Also see to it that the money used in business is free from Riiba or interest:
130. O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful.
131. And ward off (from yourselves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers.
132. And obey Allah and the messenger, that ye may find mercy.
133. And vie one with another for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for those who ward off (evil);
134. Those who spend (of that which Allah hath given them) in ease and in adversity, those who control their wrath and are forgiving toward mankind; Allah loveth the good;
135. And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins. Who forgiveth sins save Allah only?. and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did.
136. The reward of such will be forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide for ever, a bountiful reward for workers!
Spend money in Allah's way in ease as well as in times of adversity.
Keep up prayers, salat and zakat and hope for the best from Allah.
It is better to do some work than sit idle completely and I hope he is capable and experienced enough and a specialist in his field of work and Insha Allah will earn good rizq soon.
Salaam,
Your brother.
As salamu alaykum, Shayzab,
When someone lives for so long in a place, to move is a challenge in all aspects, to begin your life from cero, take sometime, efforts and lots of positive energy, of course, Allah(swt) guidance and help.
Your father should study the market, to adapt to the people, to the culture, to the needs, try to see how he can apply all his experience to this new situation.
Four years is good enough to settle down and will give him a good approach to what is needed around you, insha´Allah. Now he needs to cool down after the bad experiences and gain trust on Allah(swt) ways, He (swt) knows all, we don´t, that is why we need to strive to our best.
Now, your parents are feeling afraid at night and feel like having a cloud of darkness around, then to lift this weight, I highly advise you to tell them to do their prayers at the call of the Adhan if they can, to thank Allah(swt) for every single blessing they have, since the moment they open their eyes in the morning to pray Fajr.
They are just born to a new place, make Allah(swt) ease their ways, insha´Allah.
Would be good if they recite before going to sleep ayat Al-kursi, surats 112, 113, 114 and Al-Fatihah, and if they wake up at night I found this dua from IslamicSunrays.com,
Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahul-Waahidul-Qahhaaru, Rabbus-samaawaati wal’ardhi wa maa baynahumal-’Azeezul-Ghaffaaru.
There is none worthy of worship but Allah, the One, the Victorious, Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the All-Mighty, the All-Forgiving.
See the Arabic version here. (Reference: This is to be said if you turn over in bed during the night. Al-Hakim graded it authentic and Ath-Thahabi agreed 1/540. Also see An-Nasa’i, ‘Amalul-Yawm wal-Laylah, and Ibn As-Sunni. See also Al-Albani, Sahihul-Jami’ As-Saghir 4/ 213).
To make dua for the best for them, to be grateful for the learning process they had gone through, the following dua will release their anxiety about the insecurity they are feeling,
“اللهم إني عبدك وابن عبدك وابن أمتك ناصيتي بيدك ماض في حكمك
عدل في قضاؤك اسألك بكل اسم هو لك سميت به نفسك او انزلته في كتابك
أو علمته أحدا من خلقك أو إستأثرت به في علم الغيب عندك أن تجعل القران
ربيع قلبي ونور صدري وجلاء حزني وذهاب همي”
“Oh Allah! Indeed I am Your servant
Son of Your male servant and female servant
My forelock is in Your Hand (i.e. You have control over me)
And Your Judgment upon me is assured, and Your Decree upon me is just
I ask you with every name that You have named Yourself with
Or revealed in Your Book (Quran), or taught to any of Your creation
Or kept with Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You
That You make the Quran the life of my heart, and the light of my chest
And the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress.”
In the same article from SuhaibWebb, by Jinan Bastaki, I found this:
Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful,’ for verily Allah has said after it:
‘So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah].’” (Qur’an, 21:83-84)
Read, recite and listen to the Quran, learn and recite the Names and Attributes of Allah, take advantage of this situation and get closer to Allah(swt), this is a golden opportunity to say to Him(swt), Here I am my Lord, I am yours, I submit to whatever is your Will and I will do my best to be closer to you, always under Your help and guidance, Insha´Allah.
In this life all that has a begining has an end, just learn the lesson, don´t give up, see problems as opportunities to grow up and to improve your Iman, go deeper in your deen, to develop qualities you didn´t know you have, just open your eyes and ask Allah(swt) for the blessing of being able to see what you have to see, insha´Allah.
All my Unconditional Respect,
María

I just found this beautiful reply from Sister Z, I would like to share it with you,
"""This dua was made by Musa(as) as is revealed to us in Surah Qasas, Ayah 24, translated as: "My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!".
I shall tell you the story below:
The Quran narrates that a man came running to Musa(as) to warn him that the Chiefs of Firaun were plotting to kill him and that he should flee for his life. Musa(as) ran in fear and cried: "My Lord! Save me from the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doers)!" and when he arrived in Madyan, he said: "It may be that my Lord guides me to the Right Way."
The Quran goes on to tell us that Musa(as) upon reaching Madyan found "a group of men watering (their flocks), and besides them he found two women who were keeping back (their flocks)." These women told Musa(as) that: "We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take (their flocks). And our father is a very old man." So Musa(as) took this opportunity to help them hoping that through this good deed, Allah would bestow some much needed Mercy on him.
In Ayah 24, we see just this: "So he watered (their flocks) for them, then he turned back to shade, and said: "My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!"
Immediately, Allah(swt) answered the sincere dua of Musa(as) and gave him more than what he had asked for by granting him not just:
(1) safety from his enemies, but also
(2) a job and
(3) a wife;
SubhaanAllah! And we see the evidence of Allah(swt)'s answers and Blessings in the following Ayahs:
25. Then there came to him one of the two women, walking shyly. She said: "Verily, my father calls you that he may reward you for having watered (our flocks) for us." So when he came to him and narrated the story, he said: "Fear you not. You have escaped from the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, disbelievers, and wrong-doers)."
26. And said one of them (the two women): "O my father! Hire him! Verily, the best of men for you to hire is the strong, the trustworthy."
27. He said: "I intend to wed one of these two daughters of mine to you, on condition that you serve me for eight years, but if you complete ten years, it will be (a favour) from you. But I intend not to place you under a difficulty. If Allâh will, you will find me one of the righteous."
It really is a beautiful story and encompasses so many issues in one go, so recite this Dua often, even if you are not feeling anything, just keep at it. InshaAllah you will see a result, Allah will create a path for you. Try to memorise the dua in Arabic as it is very short"""""

Shazaib, As-salamu alaykum,
Most likely your father is using poor business practices. Maybe his accounting is not good, or he has not researched the market well, or he is overextending himself on credit. I don't know what the cause is, but your father needs to read some good business books to learn what he is doing wrong.
The bad dreams are probably the result of stress.
May Allah make it easy for you and your family, and relieve your distress.

Shazaib, Asalaamualaykum,
When we start any business we need a plan, we need to do research on the product, the service, the market, the target audience. Suggest to your father that he seek some business guidance/advice.
Together with this practical effort, make dua to Allah to make your efforts successful and always be honest in your dealings with people.
