Is niqab really important to wear?
Asalaam alikuim,
I have a question to ask to regarding about niqab - is niqab really important to wear? I mean I am not getting any genuine answer about niqab because some say niqab is farz and important and some say it's sunnah. I mean, wearing hijab and covering your body is okay right if you don't wanna wear niqab?

when asked about growing long beard, wearing niqab such matters to Mufti Menk.....He replied...it depends on the eeman of person.....some muslims show their body parts and say it is not a problem , some cover the body parts but do not wear hijab and some dont shave and keep small thin beard...and say its enough...some wear purdah and grow their to some limit and say its ok.....and later he said..the important thing is don't go backward from where you are now...only go forward....so if you are wearing purdah...keep it like that....and ask for increasing eeman to Allah...with increased eeman insha Allah there will be increased knowledge and wisdom from Allah...and act accordingly....I think it is perfect answer given by him for the topics like as it is debatable among the scholars iteself....
Before answering your question, I have to say that I'm not an Islamic scholar. Therefore, I'm not qualified to issue rulings on different matters and say whether something is Halal or Haram. So, my answer is going to be based on the opinions of the scholars of Islam.
Firstly, there is no Qur'anic verse or authentic Hadith which obligates women to wear a Niqab. But there are some authentic Ahadith which prove that "it's not compulsory" for women to wear a Niqab. For example, the prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) was once preaching to a group of women on an 'Id day. At that time, "a woman having a dark spot on her cheek stood up" to ask a question to the prophet regarding the subject he was preaching about. (Sahih Muslim) This Hadith clearly shows that the woman who "stood up" was not wearing a Niqab, and our prophet didn't tell her to wear one.
There are scholars who say that it's compulsory for Muslim women to cover their faces in public. Such scholars have this opinion because a woman's face is the part of her body which attracts most men. However, this doesn't mean it's an obligation upon a Muslimah to cover her face. When it comes to women covering up, the minimum requirements are to cover the whole body except for "the face" and the hands up to the wrists. This is the opinion held by most of the Islamic scholars.
In conclusion, wearing a Niqab isn't compulsory for a woman but it's something which is permissible in our religion. If a woman wants to cover her face, then she can do so. There were some women during the time of the prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) who covered their faces, but the prophet didn't tell them to leave their faces uncovered.
And Allah knows best.
But i had read in surat Ahzaab ,ayat number 59 "Ay Nabi apni bebiyon ,sahabzaadyion aur musalmaan auratoon se farma do k apni chadar ka aik hissa apny moo pr dal len yeh is se nazdektar hai k unki pehchaan na hu to satai na jain" ........ so isn't it means that niqaab is farz?what do you think
It's not referring to the face.

You can open the face.and cover up to wrist and up to ancle its sariah law
***niqab is farz and important and some say it's sunnah
sunnah is what Prophet Muhammad used to practise. it is not the definition of sunnah. who told you this
niqab is not farz.
Niqab is optional:
It was narrated from Aishah that Asma bint Abi Bakr entered upon the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) wearing a thin garment. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) turned away from her and said: “Oh Asma, when a woman reaches the age of menstruation, it is not proper for anything to be seen of her except this and this,” and he pointed to his face and hands. [Sunan Abu Dawud (Darussalam Publishers, 2007), volume 4, p. 422, The Book of Clothing, chapter 31: “What a woman may show of her beauty,” Hadith number 4104. Classed as Da’if by Hafiz Abu Tahir Zubair Ali Za’i. Imam Abu Dawud said: “This Hadith is Mursal. Khalid ibn Duraik did not meet Aishah. (And Sa’eed bin Bashir is not strong (in narrating)).”]. The Hadith is weak by itself but authentic due to supporting narrations and is used as evidence for this matter . . . It was authenticated by Sheikh Al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Abu Dawud, vol. 2, p. 774, number 3458.

Yes, it's totally fine if you don't wish to wear the niqab. It isn't necessary. 🙂
