Seeing water and penguins in istikhara dream for marriage; what does it suggest?

seeing penguins and water in Istikhara dream

Assalam O Alaikum,

I was worried about a marriage proposal I recieved from a very nice religious man. Everything was going in a good direction but suddenly the elder brother of that man started giving problems to my father and therfore the relation came to an end. I performed istikhara after which I dreamt of water and penguins. Can you please help me decide if its a true dream or what this dream may indicate to? Water seems good sign but penguins are black in color.

    • Salaams,

Ali Yousuff, what you said sounds totally goofy, I can't even make sense of the point you are trying to make.

Sister, istikhara is not about dream interpretation. Please read the articles on the home page about understanding istikhara. I briefly suggest to you that if this man was giving you troubles and you already brought closure to your relationship with him to leave it and him alone and move on looking for another man to marry.

  3. As Salamualaikum,

Dreams are either from Allah or from the Shaitaan, or they may be just a reflection of our daily lives, thus having no meaning.

Istikhaarah may or may not have a connection with dreams, but dreams are not necessary. You can understand this better, if you know what the dua of Istikhaarah means. Read the translation and contemplate, you will know that if something is good for you, it will become easy for you and Allah Will give you Barakah in it, otherwise, The Most Merciful Lord Will save or Protect you from it.
You have to have complete trust in Allah while you say it. Allah Loves it, that people ask from Him. He is as Razzaq and His Mercy certainly overpowers His Wrath.
Water may or may not be a good sign, based on your life, how you spend it, what you do, based on your personality, and so on. Dream interpretations differ from person to person and it is VERY DIFFICULT to correctly interpret dreams. All we should do is when Allah opens our Hearts towards something for which Istikhaarah has been done, then choose it and trust in Allah that you are correct. If it is actually right, you will see that it becomes easy for you and you have Barakah in it insha Allah, otherwise, you will see that the concerned choice becomes difficult, or it does not happen, leaving you no choice but to seek some other option.

This is how Istikhaarah works, according my experience. And Allah Knows Best

  4. I would like to know if you did the Istikhaarah, before the problems occured or after. If it was before, then it could be an indication from Allah that you should look for other alternatives. But if it was after the problems occured, then you should leave it to Allah, and move ahead.
Look for another man who Allah may have chosen for you. If the former man is good for you, insha Allah, Allah Will have him revoke the proposal, otherwise, you should continue further.
