Islamic marriage advice and family advice

She died before becoming Muslim, can I pray for her?

Muslim women prayingAslm alkm.  had this girl who was a non believer and i wanted to marry her. So when i asked her if she could become a muslim she told me that if she was taught about islam she had no problem with becoming a muslim.

So I was waiting till I finish my studies so that I could marry her. She started watching programs of Islam and whenever she could see a muslim woman wearing a niqab she could call me and ask me the purpose of the niqab and she wanted to know why that particular lady was wearing it.

Alhamdullilah Allah took her soul even before I finished my studies and we didn't get married so she didn't get a chance of learning islam and converting to islam. But I guess she was trying to learn islam with the watching of islamic shows and calling to ask about the dressed she saw other islamic ladies wearing.

So question number 1: Will Allah look at her niyyah because of the watching and asking and forgive her?

Question number 2, will those ones who didn't get the message of islam clearly here on earth be tested in the after life?

Question number 3 in case they will be tested can I pray to Allah that she passes the test so that she can go to paradise?

  1. Salaam Alaykum dear brothers & sisters.

To God, we belong, and to God, we return.

I am a revert/convert for 15 years. I have lived most of those years in Makkah, SA. I am not a scholar, just a man giving what I can to another who is grieving.

Islamically, there are varying opinions. If she was of some sort of Abrahamic faith, she will likely have some mercy according to some scholars I asked. Your story made it seem like she was TRYING to find Islam... Remember the hadiths of the murderer and the other one about a prostitute who gave a dog a drink? They still made it into heaven and I don't recall the story including shahada! It also doesn't clearly state these people's deen!

My father was a Christian. My mother converted to me in private. They both are passed on... I pray for them both. I pray for light around them and for God to make their grave a part of heaven... I pray for them to be washed as clean as the white snow... I pray for them to have what is best for them in this world and the next... always...

My simple advice: Follow your heart/soul and yet listen to your mind. Don't let others' self-righteous hypocrites keep you from grieving and praying for any human being! When they talk about Mohammad (SAAWS) and him praying for his Uncle, remember his uncle was a PAGAN! Not a Christian or Jew!

These parts of the Quran are referencing PAGANS.

“Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers”

    [al-Maa’idah 5:72]

“And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)), as it was to those (Allah’s Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers”

    [az-Zumar 39:65].

“It is not for the Mushrikoon (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah), to maintain the Mosques of Allah (i.e. to pray and worship Allah therein, to look after their cleanliness and their building, etc.), while they witness against their ownselves of disbelief. The works of such are in vain and in Fire shall they abide”

    [at-Tawbah 9:17].

In closing, I want to sincerely express my condolences and offer you a bit of hope in my reply. May Allah guide you and your loved ones, and truly ALL humankind to what is only the best in this life and the next, and may Allah guide us all to the truth and what is best for us all and grant us all Jennah al Firdaus.

If I am wrong in even the slightest, may Allah guide you to someone better than me. Allah is our judge, for now, and forever.
