What kind of divorce can I file for?

Divorce decree

Good afternoon,

I converted to islam on march 27 2014. I'm married a buddist Japanese man. Since we married, we haven't seen each other again because this marriage is only a fixed marriage for my visa process in Japan, and we have a agreement that I need to pay this man. It's been 5 years and I've never seen him,  and I don't know how to contact or reach him again to file for divorce in the legal way. We got married in court in the Philippines.

My question if now that I'm muslim, can I file for a divorce to him under islamic law, find my destiny and get married again to a muslim man? I want to be happy again.

  1. ASSALAMALAIKUM
I'm married a buddist Japanese man-
YOUR MARRIAGE WAS ON THE BASIS OF THAT RELIGION SO U ARE FREE FROM THE CLUTCHES OF THAT RELIGION-RULES OF MARRIAGE-
NOW YOU ARE A MUSLIM IN ISLAM AND ONLY ISLAMIC MARRIAGE OR DIVORCE WILL APPLY TO YOU-
AND IF YOU GO BEHIND HIM TO GET DIVORCE HE MAY NOT GIVE IT TO YOU SO EASILY-
OR FIND HIM MAKE HIM SIGN DIVORCE PAPERS 1ST THROUGH A LAWYER THEN RELEASE HIS COMMITTED AMMOUNT BY WAY OF BANK DRAFT AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM HIM-DULY SIGNED SAYING HE HAS DIVORCED YOU AFTER THAT......
TELL THE LAWYER OF PHILIPPINES TO SUBMIT YOUR PROOF OF BECOMING A MUSLIM AND AN AFADAVIT-TO THE COURT AND STATE THAT THE MARRIAGE OF 5 YEARS OLD IS NULL
AND VOID-BECASUE THE COURTS HAVE YR MARRAIGE RECORDS[We got married in court in the Philippines]

SO THAT YOU CAN FREELY MARRY A MUSLIM AND LIVE PROPERLY-THESE RECORDS WILL MAKE YOU SAFE FOR WHICH YOU MUST HAVE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT-FOR FUTURE USE IF ANY REQUIREMENT ARISES-
    REGARDS

  2. Salaams,

I am not going to say anything about why you married the Japanese man. You are a muslim now, alhamdulillah, and everything in the past that would've been counted against you has been forgiven.

If you want to know if you can get a divorce under the Islamic Courts in the Phillipines, you would need to consult a Fillipino attorney who knows about how that works. I would think you need to find a way to locate the man anyway, to divorce him at all.
