Separated for 2 years

Marital Separation

Does separation break the Nikkah?

Me and my child's father have been separated for 2 years but he has not said he has divorced me.

Q1 Because we have been separated for so long does it mean we are automatically divorced?

Q2 I have been having a lot of dreams about my child's father. It has become very regular and in the dreams he is always asking me to go back to him or asking me to forgive him or either I have gone back to him. It is like I'm dreaming the future. After I dream his family has contacted me usually a couple of days later it happens. Anything that involves my child's father in my dreams does happen in reality. I'm so confused. I don't know what to do I've been praying but the dreams of my childs father has become so frequent it's starting to hurt me emotionally. Does my dreams mean anything or is it me?

  1. Salaam sister.
I understand your emotions completely and know exactly what you are going through. I have been through the same. Ive had the same types of dreams and like you we were split up for 2 years and had a little child.
I used to get such vivid dreams that me and my husband are getting back together. At the time there was no contact and no chance of getting back together. It hurt so much that i used to cry in my dreams and wake up crying. Then some how we got talking then we 'dated' but the problems where still there. No one was backing down from either side. We would be on and off.
Then one day the dreams of black magic started it was like a message to me that something is not right. I spoke to my elders and got rukia done, both me and my husband. We found out it was done to split us apart. Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah we got back together and even though we have had ups and down but we have held it and are not letting go.
Now alhamdulillah we are back together and this time much wiser then before. It worked out for us to which i am grateful for
The thing is sister your dreams could mean something or it could be you are missing him and the love you might have had is still there. Its all in Allahs hands. Just make dua to Allah that if its best for you to be together then let it be and if not then for you to gain strength and move on.
I gave you my example so that you dont give up hope. Any thing is possible even the impossible in your eyes.
    Hope it helps
    Much love

    • That's an amazing story mashaAllah, may Allah swt bless your marriage and reunite you with your husband in jannah, Ameen.
