Advice on zina

mercy forgiveness repentance tawbah

Asalaam Alaykum Warahmatullah Wabarakatu. I feel so guilty and I would like to share and ask for advice on my major sin which I have committed. I have always told myself I will never commit zina and never got carried away in my life. A month ago, I committed zina 😭 I feel so bad about it. I am still young and gave life ahead of me and I don't ever want to go back to such a terrible thing. I ask myself why did I commit zina especially if it's someone whom I don't even see myself having a future with him. I don't understand what got into me. I don't know why I did what I did especially after I had always promised myself to never commit that sin and remain pure until marriage. I have always respected myself now I feel like I have no respect. I feel like I am no different from such evil people. I have sorrow in my heart and I feel like Allah(swt) will not forgive my terrible sin. I know it's one of the worst sins to commit. I am so ashamed. If I had the choice I would go back and avoid whatever happened 😭 I don't know what to do to feel at ease and to ask Allah to forgive my sins. I am so ashamed and I don't know what I will ever tell my future husband. It's a shame. I have only committed zina once and I don't ever want to commit zina again and want to always stay away from anything which will lead me to that. I want to be a better muslimah and know my limits and have respect for myself. I am so ashamed please help me what do I do to repent from this terrible sin? What dua or prayer do I need to do so Allah can forgive my terrible sin?
JazakAllah Kheir.

  1. Allah is the most merciful ask for forgiveness he will forgive you. Allah says i will forgive you till you make tawbah

“Except him who repents and believes and does a good deed; so these are they of whom Allah changes the evil deeds to good ones; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. And whoever repents and does good, he surely turns to Allah a (goodly) turning.”

    (Surah Furqān 25:70-71)

And He it is Who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons the evil deeds and He knows what you do. (Surah Ash-Shūrā 42:25)

  2. “And do not even approach Zina, for it is an outrageous act, and an evil way…’’ (Quran 17 :13)

As Allah the Exalted and His Messenger stated, Zina destroys both the body and the soul. So the guilt feelings you are experiencing now is just a sing of its dangers. Any sin you commit does not pass into the body to defile it except Zina. It defiles the whole body.

Zani (fornicator) and Zaniyah (fornicatress) are very miserable beings and should be sympathized with.

Dear, you were influenced by Satan to commit such an act. The guilt feelings are part of the equation. And it is better for you since it is remembering you of Allah Almighty. Guilt feelings will only come as a result of knowing that something wrong. But you need to know that your guilt feelings cant direct what you do or indicate your status before Allah.

So your sins can be forgiven. Allah is so kind and forging. Those are some of His unique names after all. This sin of yours (Zina) is one of the biggest sins in Islam. But Satan was able to defeat you to commit this act. The only way to defeat Satan back is to stop doing it as you did, repent sincerely, and ask Allah to forgive you.

After your repentance what’s next? Never again go near it. For if you die in it… May Allah forbid.

In order not to go back to committing Zina, make sure you follow the following guide Insha Allah:

    Avoid Triggers

Many times we fall into the sin of Zina when we find ourselves in certain situations that call for lustful thoughts. Figure them out, and ask Allah to help you because Satan is very powerful.

Get someone you can trust with wisdom in Islam and seek some advice from him or her whenever you think you are out of line.

Pornographic materials in today’s world are very tempting. But I think you know the difference between accidentally seeing something you shouldn’t and intentionally seeking it out. Never look at lustful materials intentionally.

Also, don’t just run away from Zina, But run towards Allah.

Once you have stop and repent from this, Allah will forgive you. Now you should forgive yourself, stop thinking about your shameful act and begin focusing on your relationship with Allah.

Among all the solutions to Zina, getting married top all. So if you know you can get married, then there is no reason for you to be single. Get a good man to marry.

But be careful not to run into Zina again when trying to get a husband. Many people fall into this by saying they are dating. Dating is one of the things Satan use to lure people into Zina.
