  1. As-salamu alaykum dear brother / sister America. Allah does NOT hate you. In fact Allah cares about you very much. He wants good for you, and wants to see you thrive as a Muslim, as a believer, and as a human being.

And yes, you ARE special to Allah. He created you for a purpose. You have talents and gifts that have not been given to anyone in the universe but you. You have a unique mission in life that only you can accomplish. I cannot tell you what it is. Only you can discover it.

Be patient. You are at an age where everything seems very difficult, and obstacles seem insurmountable. But soon you will be in your 20's and you will have more control over your life, inshaAllah. You can get an education, get a job that you like, meet someone good and get married. You can do sports, make friends, and always keep a good relationship with Allah.

Do not even think about killing yourself. It is NOT a solution. Please read my article on this website, Suicide in Islam. I think it will help you.

  2. Al salaamu alaykum ya America,

I'm going to tell you the truth: the more special you are to Allah, the more you may experience hardships and tests. It is something He does to help make the character of someone special refined, pure, and beautiful. And even more than that, any suffering any of us has, it becomes a means of forgiveness or bringing us nearer to Allah.

If you look at the lives of the people Allah loved most on earth - the prophets, peace be upon them all- you will see that none of them were given perfect, pain-free lives. Many of them were separated from their families in abnormal ways. Many of them lost those closest to them. Most all of them were rejected by their own people, harassed, punished, and persecuted. They did not have easy lives, they did not get the best of what the world has to offer without going through things we hope we never face.

The reality is, when you see someone who seems to have it all and nothing ever goes wrong for them, it may be that it's the best they get. Perhaps Allah knows their hearts are hard and careless toward Him, so He has become careless toward them, and after this so-called beautiful life of theirs ends, they will spend the hereafter in a worse suffering in Hell.

Not everything is as it seems on the surface. That being said, I can guarantee you that despite how difficult your life can be at times, you will experience marvelous things in the coming years. You will have days when you are so grateful for what Allah gave you, all you can do is cry to think you don't deserve it...even if it's something simple!

Open your heart to Allah. He already knows what you feel, and He is the closest friend you will ever have. It's ok to tell Him you hurt, and you're confused, and you're afraid it will never get better. He understands you better than you understand yourself, and He loves you to come to Him for everything. The closer you get to Allah, the more you will see all of the signs and gifts He has given you every day to show that He does indeed love you very much.

  3. Asalamualaykum America,

There is a great children's book entitled "You are Special" by Max Lucado. He is a Christian author but this work is totally relevant to you and such a comforting read. Look it up on Amazon if you get a chance!

    Best,
