Verbal abuse and bad behaviour of wife towards husband and his family

Self respect

Assalamualaikum,

I have been married since 6 years with 2 children 1 son 5yrs and daughter 3 yrs, I live in dubai with family

Since my marriage my wife's attitude towards my mother and family members is not good she misbehaves with always abuse me when I discuss about my family, she always curse them, use vulgar language against my family and my Marholm father, saying that I am helping them financially,as my mother is alone with my sister and brother sometime during eids or celebrations I send money

My family members think that she's good as I did not say anything to them

Recently my family members sister and his husband and mother sister from India planned to visit my house for 2weeks they came after few days at night 2.pm midnight she started saying bad words when I asked her to calm down as her voice is high everybody listening she did not cared me and my brother sister asked what happened bhabhi she replied it's not ur business keep quite some arguments happened between both my wife and family members,in front of me my wife asked all my family members including my 60year motheeto leave house at midnight despite of me saying not say like that she went on saying I had to keep them in hotel for few days

After they went every she's abusing me treating me that she will cut hus hand using baddest language against me and family she does not regret for her wrong doing goes on abusing me physically verbally

When I involved her parent they say she's like if u don't listen to her she will become ur father when time comes she will apologise

It's very humiliating for my family and they have asked me to leave this relationship but she does not want leave this relationship because of children neither apologise or change  herself for the sake of relationship

Pls advice inlight of islamic teachings, if she does not change I want to leave her

  1. I had a same problem, until I told her that she can leave, I can tell you one thing, a wife that does not respect the husband is not worth spending a life time with. Move one, you'll be happier.

  2. A wife is like a shadow, if you run for it, it runs away from you, if you run away from it, it runs towards you.
    Said by Benjamin Morina

  3. Exercise your rights
If she is rude to you

Tell her she has to be polite
    And respectful

    If she does not heed

    Give her the cold shoulder
    Don't talk to her

    Sleep away from her

Do not shower her with affection until she straightens out

    Or go the extra mile
    Plant a hidden camera
    And tape her unfair behavior

    Use it as evidence
    Good luck
    Salamalekum

  4. I have never come across anything so gross, so crude. While I have com across most of the Ahadith used as reference, what is the source of the accompanying text? Please enlighten us.

    • friend, I agree and I have deleted it. Some of the commentaries were offensive. And simply to write such an article suggests a deep bias and misogyny.

  5. Salam Brother,

First of all, you won't know a woman truly before marriage. You will find about them more after marriage.
Second, no one is perfect and we all have faults. We strive to be better= and before you overlook someone, look at yourself first and verify whether you are "perfect yourself"

I'm pretty sure if you google :18 types of men you shouldnt marry", you'll find a similar post.

Instead of providing these examples to the original post, provide some advise to improve his situation or to help him. Reading these points won't help him at all but will give a worse definition for women.

  6. Assalamalikum,

Hahaha, look at you people getting all worked up on this topic "The 18 Types Of Women You Should Not Marry" : )

Like i said in the beginning, this topic is from taken from the Book: ‘A Concise Manual of Marriage’ by Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, where Ibn Uthaymeen classifies 7 Women not to be married, and based on the other skeikh's research, there's 11 more added. Feel free to discuss if you find something wrong in it.

    - For the brother who said this, go ask Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen for the answer. : ) You think Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen did not think about it when he wrote the book.
